Biometric Bypass Feature for Real Devices

1. Introduction

The Biometric Bypass feature offers a streamlined way to bypass biometric authentication prompts, such as fingerprint or facial recognition, during testing on real iOS and Android devices. This feature is especially useful for testing scenarios where manual biometric interactions might hinder efficient testing.

Benefits of using Biometric Bypass

  • Efficiency: Biometric Bypass speeds up testing by eliminating the need to manually interact with biometric prompts.

  • Repetitive Testing: In scenarios requiring repeated testing, bypassing biometric prompts prevents unnecessary delays.

  • Testing Various Scenarios: Biometric Bypass lets you focus on testing core functionality without being hindered by authentication prompts.

2. Accessing Biometric Bypass

To use the Biometric Bypass feature toggle the Biometric flag while starting a session after selecting the application. The session then starts with biometrics bypass enabled for that app.

The Below illustarations shows an app behaviour first without biometrics bypass enabled and then with the biometrics bypass flag enabled.

Note: Biometrics bypass is supported on selected devices and works on instrumentable debug build only.
