File Upload Feature for Remote Real Devices

1. Introduction

The File Upload feature provides you with the ability to transfer files from your local device to a remote real device that you have an active session with on our Device Farm platform. This feature is particularly useful for testing scenarios that involve specific files, such as configurations, data sets, or test scripts.

Supported Platforms: iOS and Android

The File Upload feature is supported on both iOS and Android devices. This Feature can easily accessed by starting a manual session.

2. Uploading Files

  1. Selecting a File to Upload:

    • Click the "file/folder" icon.

    • Choose the file you want to upload from your local device.

iOS:

  • The file to be uploaded should be located within the Files > On My iPhone > Chrome directory.

Android:

  • The file to be uploaded should be located within the device's Downloads folder.

3. Verifying Upload

Once the file transfer is complete, you can verify its successful upload on the remote device:

  • For iOS: Open the Files app and go to the Chrome folder within the iPhone Device.

  • For Android: Access the Downloads folder on the device.
